John Bellany - John Bellany "Etchings of The Sea"
Saturday 25th May 2013 - Monday 22nd July 2013
With a background in the fishing industry, and a deep knowledge of fisher folk, John Bellany has the sea close to his heart. Friend and collaborator, George Bruce, has worked closely with Bellany, responding to his work by writing poetry; Bellany's "Etchings of The Sea" were made in response to the poems. We have the accompanying poems in the gallery. Bellany has recently had a major exhibition at The National Gallery of Scotland and is considered to be one of the finest contemporary Scottish artists.

Nancy Fuller - Anagama Firings
Saturday 27th July 2013 - Wednesday 28th August 2013
Wood-fired ceramics from Nancy Fuller's 'anagama' (a type of Japanese wood-fired kiln) in the north-east of Scotland. The work is fired for 4 days and 3 nights with a mixture of split pine and beech - the intrigue of the work is in the surface effects that result from the interplay of the wood ash and mineral inclusions within the clay. Nancy Fuller is Taiwanese by birth but was raised in Scotland. After training as a printmaker, Nancy discovered wood-fired ceramics when she returned to Taiwan in 2000. Nancy underwent a month-long residency at the Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park in Japan, and then embarked on a training with a Shigaraki anagama master.

Glen Lyon in Winter - Photography by Jamie Grant
Saturday 31st August 2013 - Wednesday 9th October 2013
Jamie Grant's stunning black and white photographs of Glen Lyon in winter - to accompany the launch of the book 'Glen Lyon in Winter', published by The Watermill. Local author and poet, Linda Cracknell, gives an introduction to Jamie Grant: describing his world as one that is revealed by his 'slowing down and homing in. He shares with us in black and white the chances of light, shape and spirit that have captivated him in ten years' worth of short days and low temperatures exploring on foot a relatively small area around his home in Glen Lyon with an old Leica M6'.
